St. Veronica's Handkerchief

When I was a small child the spookiest picture of Jesus hung right outside my bedroom door!! I used to RUN really fast by it because it really scared me. Well I had forgotten about the painting until a few weeks ago. I happened to go to dinner at my mothers house and I asked her about it. She told me it was my step-dad Fred's and he might still have it. Ok..then I will ask Fred.

Just a few days later my mother and I took the girls to a thrift store and while pondering around I turned a corner and my mouth dropped. WOW!! There is was FOR ME!! 16.00 and I had a 25% off coupon. I was excited and kinda intrigued that I had just asked about it to my mother. I knew it was meant to be mine!! My mother thought that that was quite odd too... The picture was alot bigger too...the one outside my bedroom was really small.

The name of it is St. Veronica's Handkerchief......
The neatest thing about this is his eyes look open when indeed they are closed. It is really neat!!
It is in the original frame..the back has been lifted but the original prongs are still in the back meaning it was framed in the late 1800's!!

I then googled it and at first could find nothing. If you know more of it please let me know...Mine is an early print ...and absolutely breath taking.

The back reads.....From the Study Of Rev. Donald C. Ford....given to us by his widow on 4/9/69. I will never get rid of this and I already took the liberty of adding From the Study Of Stephanie Brown 3/18/09

Just wanted to share this...I thought it was quite magical!!! and I am NOT scared of it ANYMORE!!!

  1. What you have now is a replica of the original painting that hangs in Northern Ireland Museum. That ORIGINAL IMAGE that INSPIRED your hand painted image was a (miraculous) "holy icon of Jesus". The lady Veronica wiped his face as he walked to be crucified and his image appeared on her clothing apron i assume shortly after touching him. In my research of these "precipitated images (and writings)" the christians call it an Acheiropoieta — also called Icons Made Without Hands. In Spiritualism in USA, many mediums also produced similar stunning images through this spiritual process similar to materialization through spiritual powers and with a spirit's help. (Bangs Sisters, Campbell Brothers, David Duguid, Henry Slade, Charles Swann, and so many more). I have witnessed such images appear in front of my eyes in seances in dim red light.. stunning and life changing. Now I lecture and travel many places to share this amazing unknown potential in the world.. I am developing students now who are showing signs of producing similar phenomena in our Precipitation Mediumship Development Circles. Many Blessings with your reproduction beautiful Holy Image! www.RevKevinLee.com

  3. I remember in my childhood home, my parents had this exact same image in a frame hanging on the wall. It was a pretty good sized framed image. I'd say about a 23x15 image in the frame. And i remember a few years later, my brother and i decided to take it out of the frame. For some reason, we were curious to see what kind of material paper it was, and it so happened that there was another image hidden behind it. I remember the image was of Jesus and the apostles in the boat. Many years later, i always wondered what happened to both images. I think they got lost in moving as we moved so many times throughout the years and lost many items. So now i am searching for another copy of the Veronica's veil image which i have found many of online. But trying to find around the same size image we had back then so that can hang it in my home. As to the other, i still yet need to find that exact same image. We were never afraid of the holy face of Jesus, we were just always intrigued about it and his eyes.

  4. We have a Gab Mar 1947 Jesus Christus in our home . It belonged to my Uncles Mother who was born in either Germany or Austria. This picture is dated 1847 with Gab Mar in the right corner and is framed in glass on both sides..very heavy with and old wood frame. If you provide a cell number, I will send a pic of it to you..The eyes follow you and seem to be alive.
